Lajahnik was a recent MBA grad looking for her next opportunity and was being turned away interview after interview due to a lack of experience. As the debate goes, entry-level jobs should be entry-level and not require two to three years of experience starting off. When Lajahnik joined the Crosstown team, due to the notion that they promoted a sense of developing from the ground up, and after laying her foundations firmly in the crosstown team, she began to aim her goals toward growth as internal growth is a value that Crosstown takes seriously. In no time at all Lajahnik continued to step up and she highlights that her travels and visits to other offices are what really helped to concrete the drive, motivation, and knowledge she needed to advance. Stepping into branches across the states from Washington D.C, Virginia, Maryland, other parts of New York, and so on. The travel journeys have created a deeper understanding of culture, values, and teamwork.

When given the opportunity to visit other offices that each had their own culture, values, and identity, Lahjanik was able to broaden her mindset as well as her skill set. “I do not like being stagnant and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Being able to meet other motivated women, a sense of belonging was fostered”, illuminated Lajahnik. Moreover, meeting other teams, leaders and managers highlighted that everyone is a reflection of yourself when leading a team. You go through phases of trials and tribulations, but you go through this together and come out stronger because of it.

Branch Manager Ajami Riley furthermore accentuates that traveling as a company “shows you that we are bigger, everyone needs an opportunity, a chance or moment to meet people who are more successful but started out in our shoes.” Ajami emphasizes that you should take every single opportunity to travel and explore as it adds more perspective to life. From a manager's perspective, Ajami pushes forward the idea that everyone should live in another city at least once in their life. It adds to character development and by being forced to be in uncomfortable situations, growth is the other side. Ajami and his team have been able to visit offices in Washington D.C, Virginia, Maryland, and other parts of New York City, attend conferences in Philadelphia and even spearhead the satellite office operations in Providence Rhode Island.
